TPD certification
All products sold on the Deson Vapes website are certified in full compliance with TPD regulations. Here's a detailed look at what TPD regulations are and what they mean for e-cigarette users.
What is TPD
TPD refers to the Tobacco Products Directive (Directive 2014/40/EU) developed by the European Union to regulate the sale, packaging and safety of tobacco products and e-cigarettes. Its core objective is to increase public awareness and protection of the health risks of tobacco products. TPD covers many aspects of tobacco production and retail, including how tobacco products are produced, where they are sold, how they are displayed, packaged and sold.
The regulation applies to all types of tobacco products, including cigarettes, cigarettes, cigars, as well as e-cigarettes and e-liquids. TPD ensures that all ingredients are tested before being sold to consumers and requires clear labeling on packaging. In addition, the directive also regulates where tobacco products are used and how they are taxed.
When did it go into effect?
The TPD regulations were established in May 2014 and officially implemented in May 2016. For e-cigarette manufacturers, this means that all non-compliant inventory must be sold before this date. As a result, some brands that were once on sale may be removed from the shelves, and the way e-liquid is sold will also change.
TPD specific requirements for electronic cigarettes
- According to the regulations, the maximum concentration of nicotine e-liquids you can buy is 20 milligrams (that is, 20 milligrams of nicotine per milliliter of e-liquids). By comparison, the highest concentration in the United States can reach 50 milligrams.
- The capacity of e-cigarette bottles containing nicotine must not exceed 10ml.
- The package must provide a detailed warning label, such as "This product contains nicotine, an addictive substance."
- Before being sold in the EU market, all e-cigarette products and e-cigarette liquids must be registered with the competent authorities of the relevant countries and submit detailed information such as product composition, toxicity analysis, and nicotine dosage.
How does Deson vapes comply
Since the implementation of TPD, Deson Vapes has always followed the established standards to ensure full compliance with the requirements of TPD.
E-liquids containing nicotine are sold in bottles of up to 10 ml. If you need a larger volume of nicotine product, you can choose a short-fill bottle. These bottles have a larger capacity and you can mix them with a concentrated 10ml nicotine bottle to make a low dose of nicotine concentration.
Every e-liquid produced by Deson Vapes has been submitted to the MHRA for certification and has all been certified to confirm compliance with TPD standards.
None of the products you find on our website or in our stores contain taurine or caffeine. They also do not contain diacetyl, an ingredient once thought to cause popcorn lung. All the ingredients in e-liquid are listed on the package, along with a nicotine warning.
If you are a new user of e-cigarettes (within the last few years), many of the changes may have been implemented before you purchased your first e-cigarette.
